Author's note: When I started the project in 2011, I was on the road, looking for work. Along the way, I listened to PC users, mostly women, across coffee shop counters and kitchen tables, tell me all the ways they hated their Windows PCs. I configured debian and ubuntu systems to meet their needs and collected their feedback. That feedback became Enchantment OS and it included repeated demands for an actual instruction book, written for real people on real paper. So I did.
